The University of Szeged Organizes an Open Day

The public relations directorate of the higher education institution informed MTI that information about admissions, training courses and the everyday life of students can be found at the open day of the University of Szeged (SZTE), which will be held on Thursday at the József Attila Study and Information Center.

SZTE’s 12 faculties and Teacher Training Center offer opportunities for further education in more than 550 majors in full-time, correspondence and distance education. In addition to training, the participants of the open day can familiarize themselves with the various scholarship programs, student services, sports opportunities and cultural events.

At the open day, a representative of the Office of Education informs high school students about the progress of the admission procedure and the most important changes. The SZTE Junior Academy, the university dormitories, the units offering international scholarships and the Mathias Corvinus Collegium will also present themselves at the event. The young people concerned can listen to a special lecture on the admission procedure for Hungarian students from across the border. Several faculties await high school students with information, and those about to continue their education can also ask their questions in the center’s atrium, at the training exhibition.

In addition to the university faculties, staff from the university dormitories, the SZTE Sports Center, the Cultural Office, the Klebelsberg Library, the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and Communication, the SZTE Career Office, the University Life Counseling Center and the Student Loan Center await the high school students at the stands. In parallel with the open day, the organizers are also preparing interesting faculty programs. At the Faculty of Pharmacy, anyone can try out the intricacies of pharmaceutical drug preparation, and those interested can also take a look at the work going on in the herbal medicine and drug knowledge laboratory practice. Thanks to the chemistry institute of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics, young people can learn more about the courses in chemistry, chemical engineering and molecular bionics engineering. Accompanied by a leader, the students can tour the famous Ady tér building of the Faculty of Humanities, while the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Education prepares blood group and hematocrit determination, presentation of the nursing profession and training, faculty walk, CPR practice, old age simulator and mini-classes.
